Week 4, Poem #2

Busyness

Rushing, running, speeding
Making up for lost time.
Planning, meeting, fleeting
Keeping far too busy. I'm
Searching, looking, finding
ways to run from my fears.
Distracting, turning, leaving
Wanting to avoid all the tears.
Knowing, seeing, feeling
the wall I've firmly set
Avoiding, isolating, ignoring
the One who paid my debt.

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator
of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow eary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40: 28-31

Hoping, praying, asking
God to strengthen my weary heart.
Stopping, sitting, spending
time with my God who will never part.
Seeking, trusting, waiting
for God to make me more like Him.
Loving, giving, sharing
in a world so dark and dim
Praising, thanking, rejoicing
that God is healing the pain.
Adoring, embracing, imitating
God, the sunshine through the rain.
